Global Energy Group has launched a new Mental Health First Aid team following the successful completion of an intensive training course.
The team, which has been formed by employees from around the group, including Be Personnel, volunteered to undertake the intensive training that the Global Energy Group’s People & Culture team organised. The training course which has given all participants a SMHFA Certificate in Mental Health First Aid, was introduced following a group wide discussion between divisional employees and the senior leadership team of the group.
An awareness campaign across all of the companies in the group, informing on how the team can help if an individual has a mental health issue and how they can be contacted was launched to coincide with Time to Talk day on 6th February.
With one in three of the UK workforce being formally diagnosed with a mental health condition at some point in their lifetime (Business In the Community, 2018: Mental Health at Work report) the launch of Global Energy Group’s Mental Health First Aid team helps embed a positive, long-term cultural and behaviour change towards mental health.
