Job description

Our client one of Scotland's leading roads maintenance and management companies currently have a need for additional Fabricator/Welders (Major Bridges) working on the Forth Road Bridge Queensferry.

Reporting to the maintenance supervisor the main purpose of this role will be to carry out cyclic maintenance, repairs, fabrication and welding duties as part of a comprehensive maintenance team.

This would be for a minimum 6 months with the potential of a permanent job offer.

Main Duties:

• Carry out cyclic maintenance tasks within own team.
• Carry out bridge structural repairs.
• Fabrication of new steelwork as required.
• Mechanical plant service and repair.
• Rescue Team participation.
• Adhere to Health & Safety legislation.
• Operation of bridge access systems (gantries).
• Assist other trades as required.

The ideal candidate should:

• Have current experience/qualification in a relevant discipline, typically SVQ 3 as a minimum.
• Hold a personal weld certification to 4G (min) would be desirable.
• Be able to work to strict deadlines.
• Be able to work as part of composite team as required,
• Comfortable working at height, and confined space
• Be in possession full approved UK driving licence.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract, Temp to perm

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: From £15.74 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
