Harvest Operatives (BE10506) - Arnish, Isle Of Lewis

Our client a leading producer of the finest quality Scottish Salmon, operating across the remote Western Highlands and Islands of Scotland, currently have vacancies within their Arnish site for harvest Operatives, working on a nightshift rota.

Arnish is located on the picturesque Isle Of Lewis, who can boast they have some of the most beautiful beaches you will ever see, many scenic walks and beautiful views.

Due to location there is a free door to door pick up and drop off each day across Stornoway.

Reporting into the Harvest Manager this role is to ensure the Salmon are being harvested humanely, within fish welfare standards.

Key essential attributes:

• Being a team player with a good high level of communication skills
• Have a genuine interest in animal welfare
• Can display a positive, and forward thinking attitude
• Hardworking, reliable and punctual, and used/comfortable being on their feet all day
• Have the ability to work within a fast paced environment
• Be comfortable working within a cold/wet environment (however all PPE provided)

Preferable attributes:

• Have a keen interest in Aquaculture
• Have an understanding of Health & safety within the workplace
• Previous experience in working unsociable hours

Main duties (not limited to)

• Harvesting - tasks will be rotational and will include; bleeding & stunning
• Working with machinery & sharp knives
• Ensuring final product is up to standard
• Rotational cleaning of all welfare areas, following harvest being carried out

Full PPE will also be provided, clothing, footwear, gloves etc

Permanent positions will be considered for the right candidates.

The successful candidates will start on an hourly rate of £11.73 rising to £12.32 after a probationary period, as well as a nightshift allowance, with a guaranteed 35 hours paid per week working between the hours of 0300 - 10.00am
