£11.73 per hour during probation £12.32 thereafter

Our client a leading producer of the finest quality Scottish Salmon, operating across the remote Western Highlands and Islands of Scotland, currently have vacancies within their Marybank site for Processing Operatives.

Marybank is located on the picturesque Isle Of Lewis, who can boast they have some of the most beautiful beaches you will ever see!

Reporting into the Processing manager the successful candidates will not only learn how to prepare salmon, but also will be trained to safely use knives and innovative machinery to produce our high-quality product.

Key essential attributes:

• Being a team player with a good high level of communication skills
• Can display a positive, and forward thinking attitude
• Hardworking, reliable and punctual, and used/comfortable being on their feet all day
• Have the ability to work within a fast paced environment
• Be comfortable working within a cold/wet environment (however all PPE provided)

Preferable attributes:

• Experience of working within a Food Processing environment
• Have an understanding of Health & safety within the workplace
• Hold a Food Hygiene qualification (not essential)

Main duties (not limited to)

• Salmon preparation - Cleaning, gutting, washing and inspection of productions
• Carrying out basic testing and monitoring production
• Ensuring final product is up to standard
• Packing & labelling
• Bin washing

The successful candidates will be trained across all aspects within Processing department, and will be asked and expected to work across all stations as and when required to do so.

Full PPE will also be provided, clothing, footwear, gloves etc

Permanent positions will be considered for the right candidates.

The successful candidates will start on an hourly rate of £11.73 rising to £12.32 after a probationary period, with a guaranteed 35 hours paid per week working between the hours of 0800 - 1700.
