Be Personnel Ltd is currently working with their long-standing client assisting them with the successful appointment of a New Product Development Manager based over both Client sites in Arbroath and Buckie.

The successful New Product Development Manager will report into the Commercial Director and work to create new ‘1st to market’ products, processes and lead market innovation which excites customers and their consumers. The successful candidate will build effective relationships with these customers and will be responsible for the management and co-ordination of product concept development through to launch.

This role is based Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. With a salary dependent on experience up to £45,000.

Key responsibilities:

• Support the generation of new sales opportunities to ensure company growth and brand image
• Presenting all trial data to relevant management
• Complete Factory Trial visits on Site
• Process development - support/work alongside relevant stakeholders from concept stage to product launch
• Samples – creation, preparation and sending of product samples as requested by the business.
• Managing the NPD team across all sites with the Process Development Managers reporting directly into you.
• Customers – building effective relationships, communication, product presenting, progress reports and any follow up.
• New product development – you will ensure the business is leading the market on new product and process innovation; support the generation of new opportunities to grow the company’s sales and customers’ appeal and ensure the business is at forefront of customer thinking on NPD
• Product Presentations – you will promote the status of the business as a leading market innovator and influence customers and the company management for new products/concepts.
• Product launches - management of product launches, pre-and post-launch review meetings, process documentation. Ensuring that all cross functional departments/ activities and documentation are completed as necessary, including HACCP process, draft specifications, packaging copy sign off, internal reviews and costings.

• Basic understanding of Food Production Principals and Practices and legislation.
• Understanding of the principals and practice of food safety and maintenance within a food-manufacturing environment.
• Awareness of food fashions, new ingredients, and trends.
• Experience working with major food retailers
• Ability to discuss and demonstrate new products, product attributes and process to customers and consumers.
