£10.42 per hour rising to £10.50 per hour

Be Personnel is currently working with their client in supporting with their recruitment needs based within their site in Portlethen.

Our client one of Ireland’s leading meat producers with 15 manufacturing plants in Ireland and the UK are currently looking for 5 x Packing Operatives for an immediate start working fulltime with a view of then being offered permanent contracts.

Due to location applicants should ideally have their own transport or live within the local area, there is a suitable Train running from Union Square that will arrive in Portlethen for 0530am.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ability to identify individual vacuum-packed cuts of meat and placing them in to specified containers/boxes
• Recognition of different cuts of meat that legally must be weighed and labelled correctly
• Placing trays/boxes on correct pallets to customer specification
• Recognising and placing selected cuts of meat into correct customer specified bags at variable line speeds
• · Selection of beef quarters by date and category that are pushed along rails to input scale
• Straightening pre pack bags that are already on production line
• Completing assigned tasks in a timely manner to meet daily targets
• Perform all prestart, hygiene and safety checks as instructed

Skills/ Experience:

• Previous experience working in a high-volume meat processing factory highly beneficial
• Able to work in chilled environment
• Manual handling ability and awareness
• Able to communicate well in English in written and oral
• Flexibility to meet daily production targets
• Consistent approach and strong work ethic
• Able to work under own initiative and as part of a team
• Adaptable to change and production demands
• Passion for food

Working Hours: 40h/week, Monday to Friday, 6am (need to be flexible with finish time)

Starting Pay Rate: £10.42 per hour for the first 4 weeks where this will increase to £10.50 per hour.

Initially this will be for approx. 3 months however for the right people there may be permanent opportunities.
