Production Supervisor (BE1026) - Fort William

Our client a Global Aluminium company bringing together assets from across the supply chain have a current vacancy for a Production Supervisor based within their Fort William Smelter.

Reporting directly to the Raw Materials & Technical Manager the successful candidate with have responsibility with Team Leaders as well as the Operators ensuring production is carried out successfully, keeping up with demand whilst maintaining a safe working environment.

Main duties (not limited to):

• Ensuring that the production area is adhering to all Health and Safety procedures
• Monitor quality of raw materials
• Manage train plans and deliveries by rail with external contractor and offsite port
• Incident investigation carried out to a high standard, including root cause analysis and identify & implement corrective and preventative actions in a timely manner
• Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, seek ways to be more efficient and drive change
• Lead by example in all aspects of HSE standards & leadership & challenge any sub-standards that may be presented
• Maintain the skills matrix of the team and develop where required to support the safe

Experience & Person Specification:

• Qualified to degree level or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices
• HSE accreditation (IOSH Managing Safety)
• Proven leadership skills
• Computer literate
