Be Personnel are excited to announce the brand new opening for a Quality Manager to join our longstanding client's team in Arbroath. As a Quality Manager you will be responsible for managing the implementation of the site quality management system within the factory, ensuring the safety, legality and quality of the product in line with statutory and customer requirements. As well as to manage and support the QA team, working closely with all departments to ensure requirements are fully understood throughout the factory and assist operations team in meeting them.

The Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the site HACCP plan is maintained and clearly communicated throughout the business
  • Managing and carrying out the CCP validation studies at the required frequency
  • Managing and leading the daily activities of the QA department with integrity
  • Ensuring the QA team is trained, fully understanding and compliant with the site food safety policies and procedures and competent in carrying out their job roles
  • Working with the Head of Technical to develop and monitor department KPI's to drive continuous improvement
  • Carrying out post hygiene audits and manage an effective program of environmental monitoring
  • Investigate customer complaints through detailed root cause analysis and report findings directly back to the customer
  • Ensuring the department is audit ready at all times
  • Being a key member of the site TACCP and VACCP teams by being actively involved in the creation and integrity and segregation risk assessment and implementing subsequent controls and mitigations

The Key Requirements:

  • Experience in working within a high care environment at management level
  • Ideally be degree qualified with relevant scientific discipline
  • Excellent people skills with the ability to communicate at all levels within the business
  • Experience in managing a team
  • Knowledge of Technical Systems, factory policies, procedures, work instructions and records
  • Detailed understanding of BCR and retailer requirements (preferably M&S)
  • Internal auditor training
  • HACCP training
  • Food hygiene training
  • Food manufacturing related experience in high care environment ideally but not essential
  • Excellent IT skills
