Shift Relief Operator (BE10157) - Inverness

Our client a UK market leader in Malt production based in Inverness have a current vacancy to join their expanding team for a permanent Shift Operator on a fulltime basis.

Summary of the role:

Working within the plant having responsibility for the manufacturing of the Malt, plant hygiene, waste water treatment, malt and barley movements complying with site safety procedures at all times.

Main duties will include (not limited to and will vary between shifts):

• Production of malt or barely drying as per instructions
• Transferring of grains
• Liaising with engineering staff and other site staff reporting any operational issues
• Monitoring of waste water
• Maintain cleanliness
• Completing and updating of records
• Weighbridge duties
• Laboratory analysis

This role will involve working 22 weeks of the year covering sickness/holidays, 22 weeks of the year working on day shift and the last 8 weeks working a mixture of day and night shifts during the harvest period.

The successful candidate will be working an average of 40 hours per week covering 12 hour shifts which will also include weekends.

Skills & Attributes:

• Be literate and numerate
• Able to follow instructions and specific procedures with a very good eye for detail
• Flexible with working times and varying shift patterns
• Be a motivated individual who likes problem solving
• Have a degree of computer literacy
• Physically fit and hold a full car license
