Our client, one of the largest seafood producers in the world and the largest producer of Atlantic Salmon, has excellent opportunities available within their Hygiene department at their state of the art and fast-growing Feedmill site based on the Isle of Skye.

The Feedmill is based in Kyleakin, a village opposite the northwest Scottish mainland town of Kyle of Lochalsh. Skye is the largest and northernmost of the major islands in the Inner Hebrides and the area boasts stunning views and coastlines with dramatic mountain scenery making it an ideal location for those who love the outdoors lifestyle.

The successful Hygiene Operatives will benefit from:

  • A competitive pay rate of £9.16 per hour standard rate with overtime being paid at a rate of £13.74 per hour

    Within this busy and varied role, the Hygiene Operatives will work as part of a flexible team to ensure that all areas of the site are kept clean and that hygiene standards are maintained in line with company standards, while also providing support with the production of feed

The ideal Hygiene Operatives will:

  • Have good written skills as there will be a requirement to maintain written records and receive goods inwards.
  • Be computer literate and able to input data accurately.
  • Be hands on and flexible, with an excellent work ethic.
  • Have a degree of physical capability due to the vast size of the site and manual nature of the work.
  • Ideally hold a counterbalance or reach truck licence although this is not essential

The Hygiene Operatives will be working on a shift system which could extend to 24/7 cover at times, with the pattern depending on activities on site. Advance notice will be provided on shift requirements each week.

Initially working on an agency contract until at least the end of summer, for the right candidates there is opportunity for permanent employment thereafter, making this position suitable for those already based in the area or candidates wishing to re-locate to this beautiful location.
